A varázslók világának megalkotója, J.K. Rowling tollából új történet születik, a Legendás állatok és megfigyelésük sorozat, amelynek kalandjai Harry Potter ideje előtt játszódnak. Az első rész végén a nagyhatalmú varázslót, Gellert Grindelwaldot (Johnny Depp) letartóztatja a MACUSA (az Egyesült Államok Mágiaügyi Kongresszusa), Göthe Salmander (Eddie Redmayne) segítségével. Ám Grindelwald beváltja fenyegetését, és megszökik, hogy gyanútlan követőket toborozzon, akik nem ismerik valódi célját: tisztavérű varázslókat nevelne, akik uralkodnak majd a varázstalan teremtmények felett. Grindelwald terveinek megakadályozásához Dumbledore (Jude Law) korábbi diákjának, Göthe Salmandernek segítségét kéri, aki el is fogadja a megbízást, mit sem sejtve a rá váró veszedelmekről. A lassan kettészakadó varázslóvilágban támadó megosztottság a legszorosabb barátságok és legodaadóbb családi kötelékek hűségét is próbára teszi.

used to like this movie but re-watching it i realize how stupid and lazy it is its worse than the emoji movie, the only thing i liked about this was the coats, they were cool, the costume designers were pretty solid with the coats, stupid twists especially at the end, why cant this guy just be a kid who was abused or something like that, i would literally rather see a movie about dinosaurs mating with rabid monkeys than this . but its worth it for those coats, they're really pleasing to look at. it feels like a fan-fiction written by a 14 year old. please please don't do a George Lucas root and make bad prequels (in my opinion the prequels would've been amazing if they were told better) then sign your company off to a company who will ruin your franchise, undoing everything accomplished in the originals. i would give this 2 stars for the coats but you didn't take the time to roll a button on the floor and you animated it so 1 star cos the film was bad

It's just not a good film, the plot is a meandering mess of contrived, borderline fan fictioney events and it wastes the excellent, setting, decent special effects and great cast. It really lacked the depth of Harry Potter and was a disappointment when compared to those films.

I loved the first. And this one is even better. It is so subtle and well thought out, and the music is outstanding especially the theme. The series are a MUST WATCH😊😊😊
