Joel Simko
The first movie, (not to include ) John Wayne's portrayal of 'The Green Barets (shot in California) which was to say the least an overweight, overboard, too , too overwrought attempt to justify our presence in Southeast Asia. I saw "Now in 79' and as I walked out of the Cinema East in Albuquerque, I felt like I had given up my Deferment & degree for a 4 week stint at Ft Bliss bootcamp and an 11 month tour in Vietnam. It had a lasting effect on me . The horror, the horror as Brando said it..

Wow this movie was excellent! The aerial film shooting, the background, the lighting, the sounds. I can't believe this movie was filmed in the 70's. The only movie that comes close to it is "platoon" and it doesn't even make a scratch compared to this movie. Everything seems to be done in real time, no special effects or computer animation. Amazing... although I can't imagine the amount of contamination left in nature after filming this lol

Saw this movie when it first came out. No screen credits, you were given a printed program! It was to be his signature work. Much better then the Redeux. The remake, with scenes cut from the original, was way too long and extremely choppy.
