It's the end of summer and best friend's Claire (Emma Roberts) and Hailey (Joanna 'JoJo' Levesque) have a major problem. In just five days, Hailey's family is moving halfway around the world! These girls need a major miracle, and they get one in the form of Aquamarine, a beautiful mermaid who washes ashore in a late summer storm. Sweet but clueless to the ways of romance, she offers to grant the girls one wish if they help her find the boy of her dreams. But when they attempt to reel in the cute local lifeguard, the result is something none of them expect and they discover that sometimes what you wish for isn't what you really want after all!

I can see parents of late elementary-early middle school aged girls having this movie around. It's a cute movie about friendship, crushes, and love. Is it something I'd own outright? Probably not, but definitely worth renting for to pass an afternoon/evening.

JoJo is surprisingly not a great actress but the superb plot and changing nail colors more than offset her performance. I've never so wanted to be a mermaid.

This movie I watch all while I was little I would watch them with my aunt when she would come over, every single time she came over it brought her happiness to watch it with me. 5 day after my b day my aunt passed away she had gotten in a car accident 4 days after her b day. I had a vary strong bond with my aunt. She was my favorite cousin I just called her aunt this year will be my 2 b day without her. I still to this day love this movie it is a bonding movie it made a lot of good times. This is a 5 star.
