The book was my favorite in high school, I was so excited to see the movie when it came out. Overall well done film. Max Pelayo is a great actor and a perfect Ari. Not giving it five stars because of course the book is always better ;) the director released some deleted scenes-- a lot of important, powerful scenes were filmed and then cut, which was really sad. It wasn't the director's decision and she definitely did an amazing job.

Loved the movie but returned it because it's an edited version without all the cursing. It's odd and distracting, especially during dramatic parts, to hear other words dubbed in.

If you loved the book, you'll love the movie. Sure, elements of the book are missing, but that's what happens when adapting a book into a movie. However, the perfection that Max Pelayo brought to Ari and Reese Gonzales brought to Dante are indisputable. Have your tissues ready because you're going to cry.
