Bonfire night, South London: Sam (Jodie Whittaker - ST TRINIANS, VENUS) is robbed by a gang of hooded youths. Suddenly a flaming meteor crash-lands close by. Sam makes her escape, but the gang are attacked by a small vicious alien. They kill the ghoulish invader, but their triumph is short lived. More aliens are invading and they're bigger, stronger and out for blood. The gang's only chance of survival is to take refuge within the concrete walls of their housing block. Teaming up with Sam and local drug dealer Ron (Nick Frost - SHAUN OF THE DEAD, HOT FUZZ), they realise it's time to step up and be heroes. It's hard to get invested in a movie when almost all of the "protagonists" are complete scumbags who just shout unintelligibly at people, and none of them really change. Even Moses is just trying to save his own skin, not anyone else's. I was hoping for all of them apart from Whittaker to get killed the entire time, and I wouldn't have even finished it if the person I was watching with hadn't basically made me. It's a shame, because the cast is great. They're just let down by irredeemably horrible characterization and scripting.

This film has a kooky but solid plot. I love the comedy crossover with sci-fi. Definetly has a few jumps and chuckles. One of the best comedy sci-fi's I have watched.

Love this film, it really is quality. Genuinely funny and pretty zany plot. The one liners throughout are great. Well worth a watch, an unexpected treasure.
