A romantic action-adventure epic set in Australia prior to World War II that centers on an English aristocrat (Nicole Kidman) who inherits a large ranch. When English cattle barons plot to take her land, she reluctantly joins forces with a rough-hewn cattle drover (Hugh Jackman) to protect her ranch. Together they experience four life-altering years, a love affair and the bombing of Darwin during World War II.

This is one of those films you will feel strongly about. You may feel like you wasted your time. You may feel like it was a great Aussie flick. Rent it before buying it, decide for yourself. Do not expect action, it can be a bit slow moving for some tastes. I enjoyed it.

a bloated epic, you could forgive the puerile story and racist stereotypes if it was made in the 1930s. A total pile of jolly swagman crap by the Billabong, crikey mate!
