Teave selle filmi kohta

After a dysfunctional group of unpublished writers accept ditzy Hannah (Kaley Cuoco of TV's THE BIG BANG THEORY) into their fold, the last thing they expect is her overnight success. While her career takes off, her eccentric and envious colleagues struggle to find their own way. A lonely pizza boy (Chris Klein of AMERICAN PIE) tries to deal with his growing crush on Hannah. An optometrist (Dylan Walsh of TV's NIP/TUCK) stalks a literary agent (Jonathan Banks of TV's BREAKING BAD) for his stay-at-home wife (Teri Polo of MEET THE PARENTS). And a military veteran (Dennis Farina of GET SHORTY) starts selling his Clancy-esque masterpiece at a local hardware store. Tensions rise, rivalries form, and hearts are broken. Rejection turns to desperation. Good thing they're only armed with pens...

Everyone in the film tries to be funny instead of actually making anyone laugh. It is hard to care about who any of the characters are or their aspirations and dreams due to the complete lack of character development. Then again, the movie would have to possess a plot that anyone cared about in order for character progression to ensue. The entire hour and half the film was rolling, I was waiting of the movie to actually start. It ended before it began.

I literally laughed out loud at the housewife, she portrayed such a layered L.A. joke with her noisy garden backyard and talking about how she met her husband doing massage...the rest of the writers also fairly represented caricatures of the different demographics of aspiring novelists. Yes some of its cheesey but for a low budget comedy I found it pretty funny, probably appeals more to writers or people who know writers or who at least read a lot.

Don't let the pointless people confuse the achievement of making a lovely, very human story out of nothing. Whoever wrote this got it right, and they made such a good story that I watched this movie twice in one go. I really appreciated what they did. Remember: sure, graphics and battle scenes are great (I love them); but if you're a true writer no one gives a stuff unless you can tell a story. Fact. That should be your nightmare and your success. Mazel tov! (I hope I got that right, I'm not Jewish) Guten Tag. (I'm British. This is not good comedic timing, but I would greatly dislike being confused with something that I am not and I m not just a little bit British... I am A LOT BRITISH. I just hope that this has been noted. Excuse me.)
