Academy Award-nominated director John Singleton (Boys N the Hood) returns to inner-city L.A. to tell the story of Jody (Tyrese Gibson), a misguided 20-year-old African American boy-child who is finally forced to face the commitments of real life. Streetwise and job-free, he has not only fathered two children by two different women, but still lives with his own mother. Unable to find direction in his chaotic life, he must also contend with his volatile best friend, Sweetpea (Omar Gooding), while adapting to his mother's new boyfriend, reformed O.G. Melvin (Ving Rhames). On a journey filled with violence, romance, tears and laughter, Jody must face Melvin, both his """"baby mamas,"""" a new adversary (Snoop Dogg), and his own fears of adulthood if he wants to escape the life of a baby boy.

Those that thought the Movie was trash probably, never experienced life Challenges of this magnitude, this is one of my favorites, and it was film on the area where I once live which makes it even more Beautiful ...One of John Singleton's best work, I just would have loved to see 2 pac play Tyreese's role... But everything is in God's plan.

This Movie has a special meaning and place in my heart, I saw it in the movie theaters when it came out in 2001, I was 13 and it was summer, man! how the years fly. Now ill be 26 in a few months. I was inooo on middle school with a T Mobile color flip phone "with" a camera everything was simpler back then and I Still Love this Movie. And watch it on a daily basis. It brings back a lot of nostalgia.

This movie is my all time favorite!!!!! I cried when somebody stole my movie...... It's very true in different parts around this place we call life/home!! Stuff does happen this way everyday, its nothing different. Just people tryna get there lifes together and not be bums!! Like that part when Jody says " everybody movin making money, while we still standing here being broke! " that part inspired me to do a lot better then what I was before. Don't seatle for less get up and make more!!!
