Jody (Gibson) is a 20-year-old African American in South Central L.A. who is trying to live large but doesn't have a job. He's got two babies by two different women and still lives at home with his mother (Johnson). Growing up is tough on Jody, but a series of events involving his mother's new boyfriend Melvin (Rhames), his girlfriend Yvette (Taraji P. Henson) and her ex-con ex-boyfriend Rodney (Snoop Dogg), force him to learn lessons about living, loving and surviving as a man in the hood. This is the realest dope hood movie ever made Tyrese Gibson and Snoop Dogg did real hood s**t up from where it's at and I don't know like if anything goes on over there as it is anymore. It's been years when you're living in the type of streets and things kind of change since being where you are now.

This is a great movie and it's real of today's society and life. I'm just wondering if some of these people on here making comments ever went to school because I can hardly read their comments or maybe they never left the hood....... Lmao.

Man, this movie bringing back so many memories where me and my family usually lived in Crenshaw Blvd. where Tyrese Gibson, Snoop Dogg, the Cast were filming and John Singleton directing the movie around Los Angeles, California. Best movie ever. Rest In Peace to John Singleton. 🙏🏿
