the neurotic Woody Allen persona takes on a dictator and hilarity ensues. yes the comedy lurches into the juvenile at times but that's half the fun of this movie. an entertaining serving of comedic soup.

Grew up watching the edited version on the TV in the 70s and 80s. It had a regular rotation. Woodys agility is such a key element. Tremendous skit comedy with a loose plot.

"Bananas" remains a biting satire of politics and media, even decades after its 1971 release. Woody Allen's comedic genius shines as he plunges us into a ludicrous revolution, delivering unforgettable gags and sharp social commentary that still resonate today.
