범죄와 부패, 탐욕의 도시 고담시. 두 명의 강도가 길 가는 선량한 가족의 지 갑을 털고 건물 옥상에서 분배하려는 순간, 검은 그림자가 이들을 덥치곤 어 디론가 사라져 버린다. 어릴 때부터 악의 세계를 주름잡아 온 악당 잭 니파이 어는 배트맨에게 걸렸다가 약품 속에 쳐박혀 간신히 살아나긴 했지만 창백한 흰 얼굴에 머리칼은 초록색 그리고 입술은 진홍색이고 게다가 안면 신경이 파손되어 늘 웃고 있는 상태의 광대 얼굴 조커가 된다. 개명한 이름처럼 즐 거움을 추구하는 무시무시한 악당이 된 그는 이제 배트맨과의 대결을 기다린 다. 고담시의 모두가 배트맨에 대해 궁금해하고 있을 때 종군 사진 기자였던 비키 베일은 동료 기자와 배트맨을 취재한다. 그런 비키 앞에 매력적인 의문 의 백만장자 브루스 웨인이 나타나고 그에게 사랑을 느끼는데, 그가 바로 해 가 지고 고담시의 악당이 나타나면 웨인의 저택 지하에 있는 초현대식 박쥐 동굴에서 하이테크 갑옷을 입고 범죄 현장으로 달려가는 배트맨이다. 심야 영웅 배트맨과 미래 악당 조커의 정면 대결과 미모의 기자 비키와의 어드벤 쳐 로맨스가 시작된다.

평가 및 리뷰

GREAT movie overall. Phenomenal performances by the cast especially the leads. Jack Nicholson is superb as the clown prince of crime. Both maniacal and witty. Michael Keaton is equally talented as the caped crusader. Both dark and tortured. Hands down one of my favorite adaptations of Batman.

A great movie overall wonderfull performance's by Jack Nichson and Michael Keaton I also love the classic backdrops and amazing score by Danny Elfman the reason it misses a five star rating is compared to later Batman movies there is not enough action and most charecters are very one dimensional still I belive this is one of Tim Burtons greatest films and delivers everything you want from a 1980s take on a Batman film

Best Batman movie ever made! As the Batman movies got made throughout the years from that point on they just got lame & stupid!
