When it comes to origins stories for Batman, this one was probably the most entertaining one I've seen and it's not even just Batman's story but Gordon ' s as well. You can literally feel the struggle both go through as Gordon tries to navigate the corrupt GCPD and Bruce learning the tools and trade to be the Dark Knight. Also the talent in this movie is straight on par. If you like Bryan Cranston because Breaking Bad, you'll really love his portrayal of Gordon.

The animation looked like a throwback to the 80s...but that's okay, since year one came out around that time.

I loved the Year One comic and this movie was not far off. They didn't try and dumb anything down too much or over adapt it to be kiddie friendly.
