In a lot of ways this reminded me of The Relic from two years prior as like that film, this has its flaws but I would be lying if I said I didn't have a lot of fun with it. This is thanks to its reasonable budget being put in all the right places with the action, attack scenes, cinematography, score, practical effects, cast and overall production value being really good. It is also well-paced, features some fun gore and has a couple of laughs. What lets the side down is it has its cliched elements, the script could be a lot better, the characters lack depth, the special effects aren't awful but definitely have room for improvement and some of the camera effects could be toned down as they get a little grating at times. Despite those flaws though it was still highly entertaining and it nearly provided everything I was looking for in a film like this.
