A young farmer sets out to recruit mercenaries to defend his peaceful planet, which is under threat of invasion by the evil tyrant Sador and his armada of aggressors.

Space Opera on a shoestring budget. Rodger Corman went all out for this one. A stellar cast, visual effects by James Cameron, a soundtrack score by James Horner. A real popcorn movie inspired by Star Wars, and the Magnificent Seven. Ostensibly this is the Magnificent Seven in outer space.

One of the best sci fi movies of the 80s, yes it's cheesy but oh so entertaining.
