About this movie
Japan zu Beginn des neuen Jahrtausends. Das Land befindet sich im Chaos und die Gewalt an Schulen ist völlig außer Kontrolle geraten. Die Regierung kontert mit einem neuen Gesetz: dem BATTLE ROYALE. Jährlich wird eine Schulklasse willkürlich ausgewählt und auf einer verlassenen Insel ausgesetzt. Die Schüler sind nun Teil eines „Spiels“, das nur drei Regeln hat: es dauert drei Tage, jeder bekommt Verpflegung und eine Waffe, NUR EINER DARF ÜBERLEBEN.
