Such a great WWll film. It reminds me of a newer black and white film, one made around now, that captures the emotions of war, and that is what it does. It also maybe leans into being more of a documentary. It captures the emotions perfect through the perfect black and white. It's a classic, a classic must see.

Best time shortly after war when memories and plot and character develooment paramount. Also sexy funny part with concerned soldier worried about buxom lady carving bread, so close into her breasts!🤔😁😉

Watching this movie was almost as if you had to hunker down with these guys and you had to feel sorry for the soldier who was reaching for his boots as he was shot trying to get out of his foxhole. Crying, "Mama! Mama!"
