I know this film got bad reviews, but it is just beautiful to watch over and over again. The performances are flawless and the songs are to die for. The evolving of the two main characters make you envy their experiences of friendship and at least make you happy to be a voyeur. Don't believe the hype, anyone can enjoy this film. I should know, I'm a heterosexual, working class man and will happily chat to my sisters about this amazing film with pride.

This is the best film ever. Bette Midler is fantastic and although it is a weepy one it is a great story of friendship and how 2 people so different can be so good for each other.

Just a timeless classic! Funny, heart warming, sad, tear jerker, but most of all phenomenal acting! Bette midler is just a legend in this!
