Having lost his fortune at sea, a merchant and his children are forced to retire to the countryside. Belle is his youngest daughter, full of beauty and grace. While travelling, the Merchant discovers the Beast, who sentences him to death for stealing a rose. Belle, who blames herself for her family's misfortune, offers to sacrifice her life in place of her father's. Beautiful sets, costumes, graphics and acting. Would have liked to see more development of the relationship between Beauty and her Beast otherwise stunning movie. 4 and 1/2 stars
