About this movie

A unique documentary/narrative hybrid chronicling the stranger-than-fiction true story of George Lazenby, a poor Australian car mechanic who, through an unbelievable set of circumstances, landed the role of James Bond in On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969), despite having never acted a day in his life. Then after being offered the next six Bond films and a $1 million signing bonus, he turned it all down… 2017 Not Stirred LLC.

A yarn so good, I couldn't care less if it's true or not. Lazenby is a great raconteur and his story utterly riveting. He provides a real insight into what it must be like to be a contract studio drone. I rented it and came back to buy it. Becoming Bond is hilarious, thought provoking and at time poignant. Very highly recommended regardless of who your favourite Bond is.

You get the feeling you're being taken for a ride but it's one you want to go on. Who knows how much of the story Lazenby tells is true but in his telling of it you can absolutely see how he bluffed his way into one of films most iconic roles.
