Thankfully I've watched the movie first so I can appreciate it as a piece of cinematography rather than comparing it somewhat woefully to its literary counterpart. I've yet to read the book but I will. As a movie it was very good. My only criticism was seeing Colin Firth cast as a bad guy. Didn't suit him and he just came across as sleazy. Other than this (I do really like Firth btw - Darcy!) I really enjoyed it and would recommend it. Great suspense building thriller.

I read the book first, which is a fantastic read, a real page turner. Parts of the story are completely missed out so be prepared. Hubby enjoyed the film for what it was, without knowledge of the authors version.

Having read the book I was so excited when I heard they were making it into a film, it was no where near as good as the book and I felt you could see where it was going Colin Firth seemed a creep from the start, needed to be a lovable character then twist better.
