Inspired by the true story of Dido Elizabeth Belle, this powerful film stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw as the mixed-race daughter of a British Navy officer raised by her wealthy great-uncle (Tom Wilkinson) and his wife (Emily Watson). I loved the movie, though I would have preferred to be able to activate the subtitles because they were not working and because this accent is pretty difficult for me to understand as a second-language speaker.
