I had to watch this movie as part of my college American Lit. Class and I loved it! But if you are going to watch it actually pay attention because it flashes back quite a bit. It gets hard to follow the story line if you don't watch the full thing at one time beginning to end.

Honestly the first time I saw it...I was maybe too young to see it. It was somewhat disturbing but I like the story. I prefer to never see Oprah squat and pee..that was unnecessary. It is a good story, I suggest reading the book prior to watching.

Anyone that gives this movie four or more stars is trolling. This movie was really horrible. Highlights of this miserable movie include infanticide, Oprah Winfrey urinating in dirt and disturbing nakedness that will creep out most people. Spend money at your own peril.
