A filmről
Held captive in a specialized medical facility, a young woman with unique abilities seeks a chance to escape her obsessed captor.
Set in the strange and oppressive emotional landscape of the year 1983, Beyond the Black Rainbow is a Reagan-era fever dream inspired by hazy childhood memories of midnight movies and Saturday morning cartoons. From the producer of Machotaildrop, Rainbow is the outlandish feature film debut of writer and director Panos Cosmatos. Featuring a hypnotic analog synthesizer score by Jeremy Schmidt of "Sinoia Caves" and "Black Mountain," Rainbow is a film experience for the senses.

Love the look. Although a little too much at times. It's slow but not in a good 2001 Space Odyssey way. It builds all this tension that ultimately fizzles. Aside from that it's fun to watch if you dig super weird eye candy and droney synth soundtracks .

This is a visually compelling dark slowly deliberate film that's a great throwback to some of the weirder darker films that came out in the 70s and early 80s, like Phase IV, Suspiria , Scanners, Altered States. The lighting tones and colors in the film are hypnotic you can't take your eyes off of it. & the dark synthesized score really complements the dark overtone & visual style of the film. The doctor antagonist gives a great creepy weird performance slowly epitomizing the darkness and madness. Excellent!

This movie is an artistic work of highly stylized, fantastically bizarre genius!!! I appreciate the expression of the era, the detailed style, the mind bending psychology of every frame per second, visually as well as aurally. Five stars!!! Bravo!
