This film is awful. The plot makes no sense with most of it not getting explained, the acting goes from stale to camp pretty fast and the set up is just awful. You have throw away characters, missed opportunities, plot convenience and far too many plot holes to mention (like why a dagger that was needed for the game, not sold with the game).

This film could have been so much better if they had spent more time playing the game with each player taking more turns or if the game was not so easy to win. Maybe if the game players had spent more of the film beyond the gate it could have been something more especially if the world that that when entered was more like hellraiser or even a maze - anything at all would have been better than the nothing that that found there the man in the shop is just not sinister enough to be in any film calling itself a horror!!

Disappointing. Not witty enough to be clever pastiche nor odd enough to be homage to schlock Italian horror. Commits the worst sin....it's boring.
