Bengali Film Bidrohini Naari (2002), stars Rachana Banerjee and Siddhartha as lead the pair. Music of the feature film is directed by Rishav, Supriya, Swarup Nayak. The story is as Partho, a rich businessman, falls in love at first sight with Swati. They get married and Swati was trying to adapt the life style of her husband's family. On the festive day of holi, she witnesses Partho's younger brother, Praveen raping the maid-servant and rushes to tell Partho. Partho's family conspire to cover up this shameful incident. Swati was witness to the whole event. She had tried to resist but had failed. The matter is taken up in court when Swati is portrayed as a mentally unstable person and confined in a mental institution for two weeks by a judicial order. Unable to bear the mental torture in the institution, she escapes and runs into a down and out alcoholic lawyer, Vikram Sinha Roy who has the rape case re-opened. The maid-servant dies in hospital, and the police write her death off as a suicide. But Vikram Sinha Roy is able to prove otherwise. The guilty were appropriately brought to justice.
