In this inspiring tale of one mans battle against schizophrenia, Tom Hanks returns from WW2 to befriend a small scared oddball child by singing to him, conduct grief counseling with a vending machine, perform serious fraud, worm his way into a six figure job through sheer lies, learn to love a woman as much as a volleyball and to learn the most important lesson of all in life, how to cooperatively play a life size piano in a children's toy shop while not being sectioned for your obvious mental illness.

A film where you can comfortably think. Only Tom Hanks can play the lead such a heart warming film and very honest from the emotion of a mother losing her son to a woman losing her soul mate. It shows how much being a child when you grow up is still important but not too much. Always have a place in my collection this film will.

Taking us back to a time when kids just wanted to play and have fun, reminding us that there is a child in all of us. Utterly charming, the piano scene is pure class. A perfect cast! How we change as we get older wrapped up in life! We remember how disappointed we felt when "grownups"didn't have the time for us. A fantastic film!
