About this movie

On the eve of his first show at the Whitney Museum, up-and-coming NYC artist Henry (hears news that his grandfather back home has had a stroke. Returning to his idyllic birthplace, Henry soon finds that the old man isn't the only thing he must tend to: there's also the semi-closeted issue of his sexuality, which he longs to reveal to his family (and to his old high-school crush, Dean). Caught up in all of his angst, Henry fails to notice the advances of the sensitive Pike, an espresso-brewing outdoorsman who owns the town's general store and cooks meals for Henry’s stroke-addled grandpa, Sam.

This charming movie is quite literally the antithesis of contemporary global gay culture. Within this movie, the audience will not be subjected to young and emaciated effeminate men obsessed with perpetual intoxication and fornication, but rather the lives and families of two sober and ethical men, who both desire an honest monogamy. This is the finest homosexual love story I have ever seen; highly recommend.

I always come back to this feel good classic. Can't get enough of the idealistic approach that this movie takes on support, patience and romance. Love it!
