Über diesen Film

The story revolves around a dying father (played by Finney, and McGregor as a young man) and his son (Crudup). Trying to learn more about his dad by piecing together the stories he has gathered over the years, the son winds up re-creating his father's elusive life in a series of legends and myths inspired by the few facts he knows. Through these tales, the son begins to understand his father's great feats and his great failings. © 2003 Columbia Pictures Industries, Inc. All Rights Reserved.

Sometimes what annoys us the most about our parent, is what we find out we love them the most for. Their quirkyness, imagination and those little white lies (tall tales) and thier failings. I love this movie bevause its sweet, their journey made me cry. My mom was a big fish too, a "story teller"

Excellent story of a relationship that was stressed, a child wanting the truth, a father that recognised the boorish nature of reality. The upset that tear's apart a relationship, becomes the uniting and bonding factor. A reminder that it's never too late to appreciate what we have while it's within our midst! It truly strikes to my heart! In the end, the man becomes the tale and thereby becomes immortal.
