Jack Burton (Kurt Russell) is a simple man who doesn't believe in ghosts or magic until he's swept into a mind-boggling adventure deep within Chinatown's mysterious underworld. Burton's pal, Wang Chi (Dennis Dun), is trying to rescue his kidnapped fiancée. Egg Shen (Victor Wong), an enigmatic tour-bus driver seems to know a lot about ancient Chinese magic for a simple tour-bus driver. They do battle with an outlandish array of human and inhuman adversaries under the command of Lo Pan (James Hong), a 2000-year-old evil magician who has the power to transform himself from a wheelchair-bound old man into a seven-foot-tall mystical menace.

An 80's classic, Kurt Russell channels John Wayne as (Hero / Buffoon) truck driver Jack Burton an ordinary man caught up in extraordinary events. A mis-mash of action adventure, kung-fu and sorcery films - should be awful but GREAT.

Kurt Russell gives one of his best performances as Jack Burton a truck driver who totally gets out of his depth in San Francisco's Chinatown. Martial arts battles, Chinese black magic and a hairy orange beast. Kim Cattrall has never looked better. The film is full of quotable one-liners my favourite being about the "little old basket-case on wheels"

Tongue in cheek action doesn't come much better than this. I still have hairs on the back of my neck when the action scenes kick in as i used to watch when i was a teen. Just watch and please switch your cyclical brain off!!
