Über diesen Film

From visionary filmmaker Spike Lee comes the incredible true story of an American hero. In the early 1970s, Ron Stallworth (John David Washington) becomes the first African-American detective in the Colorado Springs Police Department. Determined to make a difference, he bravely sets out on a dangerous mission: infiltrate and expose the Ku Klux Klan. He recruits a seasoned colleague, Flip Zimmerman (Adam Driver), into the undercover investigation. Together, they team up to take down the extremist organisation aiming to garner mainstream appeal. Produced by the team behind the Academy Award®-winning° Get Out, BlacKkKlansman offers an unflinching, true-life examination of race relations in 1970s America that is just as relevant in today’s tumultuous world.

It is a movie that sells itself as almost a real life Black Dynamite. Ok it does have some of the similar charms. But what it actually is is an off beat slightly humorous take on race politics of the time and ... Uhm... Yeah... Do stick around for the end sequence... It is hard/impossible to leave after that without having some really heavy thoughts about people today. About as subtle as a sledgehammer. But sometimes bluntness is needed.

A heart that is prone to love easily can barely take the hatred of this world before it gets smitten by the darkness itself. This is an immensely powerful movie, and the fact that it is even more relevant today, in the era of information, is mind boggling and soul shattering. There is a global wave of hatred roaming the world in our time, I wonder oh I wonder, whom of us will survive it. Thank you Spike Lee, it was about time that someone visually put this hatred in historical context.

Not so good as i anticipated. Surprisingly lame, but then again it is a political movie, like the Black Panther.
