An Daimhíneach
Hugo Weaving, Stephen Rae and the newcomer James Frenchville are all outstanding. In fact, acting all around is superb in this first ever film about the Irish famine. Gripping action as well. Bualadh bos!

This film gets one huge star for featuring the Irish language, and for Stephen Rea's character's clarity. Lovely landscapes. Unfortunately, this film possesses the historical and intellectual depth of a saltine cracker. At best, it's an Irish 'Rambo'.
Glenn Malarkey
The cinematography was outstanding and having a lead character that can show so much without talking much is outstanding.
