Carol Thompson ("The Secret Garden," "Edward Scissorhands") wrote this wonderfully moving film adaptation of the classic children"s story told from the perspective of a horse named Black Beauty. Thrust on a personal odyssey -- taking him through good times and ill, trusted friends and callous enemies, disasters both natural and man-made -- Beauty experiences the best and worst of human nature, all the while seeking a safe place where he will be loved. The New York Times calls this "the most distinguished children"s film of the season..." and The Hollywood Reporter calls it "a graceful and moving film, playful and spirited."

Is my favorite horse story since I saw it for the very first time a long time ago I can watch this movie thousands of times and I will watch one more time again. 💛

When I was little I used to watch this movie back to back having my mom rewind it every time it would end. I was probably 5 or 6. I am now 21 and this is still my favorite movie. I just recently saw the first Black Beauty movie from 1946. I loved that one too but this one tops that. One day I hope to share this movie with my kids.

Poor black beauty has to imagine ginger and Mary legs and ginger dies so wrong and what about the mouthed man this movie is sad but still has funny happy part that make it good
