The college town of Bedford is receiving an unwelcome guest this Christmas. As the residents of sorority house Pi Kappa Sig prepare for the festive season, a demonic stranger begins to stalk the house. A series of grisly obscene phone-calls start to plague the residents of the sorority and soon they will each meet their fate at the hands of the psychotic intruder. As the Police try to trace the calls, they discover that nothing is as it seems during this BLACK CHRISTMAS. MPAA Rating: NOTRATED Somerville House

This movie creeped me the eff out even as a thirty year old woman who has seen tons of horror movies. I didn't catch it as a teen when I was watching all the 70s and 80s classics, but it still made an impact on me. Maybe because I remember land lines. But mostly because Billy is convincingly utterly insane.

Its a sad fact that horror movies aren't made with this type of restraint and true suspense anymore. This film predates most slashers and in fact is the first slasher film (not Halloween). Today's horror films replace plot and character development with Gore and shock value which is why they so simply suck. Rent Black Christmas watch it alone, turn out the lights and I dare you to not be creeped out.

A great family Christmas movies. Stranglings, killings and a Christmas carol here and there. I love watching this during the Christmas season.
