This is one of the best war films ever IMHO. I can't testify to the historical accuracy but it's proper edge of the seat stuff from start to finish. Not as much character development as Saving Private Ryan but plenty of good characters that you root for. A top notch war film.

Watch this for a bout 3 years almost every day and then read the book that's what I did before I joined the best army in the world that's write thee British one. But on a series not if u love the army watch this then read the book then research it

Not as good as some of the other war films of this era, but it's still a great watch. Captures the realism and emotions of war really well. It's not too long, and is action and suspense all the way.
