In this contemporary adaptation of Langston Hughes' acclaimed play, single mother Naima (Jennifer Hudson) sends her teenage son Langston (Jacob Latimore) to New York to live with his estranged grandparents, Reverend Cornell and Aretha Cobbs (Forest Whitaker and Angela Bassett). Once there, Langston embarks on a journey of self-discovery in this inspiring story of faith, family and forgiveness.

This movie was really good, great performances by all. I just read some of the comments down below. If you have something racist to say keep that garbage to yourself because nobody wants to hear it. Racist people don't respect themselves and have no love for themselves or the people in this world. People are so intolerant towards different cultures instead of embracing them.

The movie was great, from beginning to end. Not because it has all black people, but because its actually a good movie. Now, if you just rated the movie a one because your white and it has no white people in it. How do you think black people feel when there's a funny or heartfelt movie with only white people. Some care, some don't. See black people rate the movie based on how good it is, not on what color skin the movie has in it. In my opinion the movie is great! I loved Jacob Latimore!!!!!
