In this contemporary adaptation of Langston Hughes' acclaimed play, single mother Naima (Jennifer Hudson) sends her teenage son Langston (Jacob Latimore) to New York to live with his estranged grandparents, Reverend Cornell and Aretha Cobbs (Forest Whitaker and Angela Bassett).
