Sobre aquesta pel·lícula

Killer whales are beloved, majestic, friendly giants, yet infamous for their capacity to kill viciously. Blackfish unravels the complexities of this dichotomy, employing the story of the notorious performing whale Tilikum, who — unlike any orca in the wild — has taken the lives of several people while in captivity. Blackfish expands on the discussion of keeping such intelligent creatures in captivity.

Amazing documentary, A must watch for any education program. Really highlights the negative effects that captivity has had on these captive orcas, when you really think about how much boredom you can handle then you really start to realize how much suffering these animals go thru. All these whales speak different languages. it would be like putting an american, a chinese, a french, and a spanish person in the same small room and expect them to get along when no one can communicate with each other because they all speak a different language and have to communicate via body language. there are bound to be issues and fights. I mean look at prison thats a prime example of what confinement and solitary can do to people much less intellegent/emotional animals like these whales. I never liked that killer whale and dolphin shows at seaworld as I knew that none of the behaviors and "facts" that they told you where not true. I grew up watching discovery channel, animal planet, and national geographic. so shame on sea world for continuing to hold a vice grip on these whales. if they dont wise up and start creating a more sanctuary like setting they will get pushed out of the market by the new sea side sanctuaries that are being build around the world.

When watching this, I got sick to my stomach. Very sad how they take away something from a family of whales and know nothing what they could do to harm human mainstream. Its hurts them to be locked away and force to be a star and all they want is freedom to the wild where they came from. If its packs or two, say a family or couple who wants to enjoy their environment and be taken away to do stupid things. This documentary is very educational and informative film. Shows the world how animals has soul too.

C'mon people. Yes, SeaWorld did many bad things in the 70's, but now they focus on animal rehabilitation and habitat restoration. Yes, they have shows, but they do behaviors with the animals just like any zoo does. What's more disturbing to me is that the folks that made this movie just made a HUGE profit over the death of this poor animal trainer. That's more tragic than anything else.
