Par šo filmu

From visionary filmmaker Spike Lee comes the incredible true story of an American hero. In the early 1970s, Ron Stallworth (John David Washington) becomes the first African-American detective in the Colorado Springs Police Department. Determined to make a difference, he bravely sets out on a dangerous mission: infiltrate and expose the Ku Klux Klan. He recruits a seasoned colleague, Flip Zimmerman (Adam Driver), into the undercover investigation. Together, they team up to take down the extremist organization aiming to garner mainstream appeal. Produced by the team behind the Academy Award®–winning Get Out, BlacKkKlansman offers an unflinching, true-life examination of race relations in 1970s America that is just as relevant in today's tumultuous world.

It was pretty dumb overall. Many of the scenes were out of place. It looked like it was put together by a bunch of cinema students. It lacked continuity. The movie portrayed the current administration as KKK members and there being some kind of 50 year master plan to put a member of the KKK. The movie tried to refer to the KKK as some clandestine "organization" which they dont talk about yet they advertised in the newspaper as the KKK. More continuity issues. Characters were weak across the board. For someone who has been making movies for so many years Spike has learned very little it would appear.

I love Spike Lee, and I was intrigued by this movie. It's well acted, and some scenes have the magic that only Lee can bring. That said, the tension isn't as palpable as it could be, the movie feels rushed and incomplete. Some scenes are arguably too short to make sense, while others seem to be used only to make a dramatic point that went nowhere. Only in the end does Lee reveal his motive for making the picture... And it most likely would have been a better choice to put it at the beginning. That way, some of his scene choices to make it less about character and more about context would have more punch.

I love how most people calling this racist can't spell basic words right or form a proper sentence. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, I just wish they were intelligent ones. And for those stating that the KKK were Democrats, that's probably true. But, at that time the Dems were the conservatives, especially the Southern Democrats who were pro segregation. It was after the Civil Rights movement that they began to transition to the Republican party as the main Dems grew more liberal.
