Great action, Snipes puts in a great performance as the Marvel "daywalker" half human, half vampire. I personally look to "Blade" as the movie that kicked the adaptation of comic book characters being feature length movies into high gear (not to diminish Todd McFarland's "Spawn" in any way). As I'm writing this review in 2015, Snipes and Marvel have been having dialogue about there being a new Blade movie or Marvel finding some way to bring Blade back into the MCU (Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. perhaps).

I will always love this movie. How the different ethnicities and cultures and styles were meshed together rocked it for me. It's allll the genres in one: comedy, ficitional history, horror, drama, struggle for survival but caring for others... With such scarce free time this movie was a Godsend, especially back in 1998, with school, work, and managing a home alone. Thank you to allll in involved in making these three movies possible.

This is the movie that made Marvel what it is today, an R rated, gory filled, often dark movie that was a winning combo. Along with the perfect actor for the role and a non-origin story has me watching this over and over again! They didn't recreate that until Deadpool and see how much of a success it was... Marvel, take notes! My only gripes with the movie is the dated special FX, sometimes poor acting and cheesy dialogue, but it's still better than most of the Marvel movies out there!
