What's all the fooking hype about bruh? This movie was such a drag. Since I'll never get 3 hours of my life back, can I please at least have my $14.99 back?

Certainly captured the bleak, depressing vibe of the original. Im not a hardcore bladerunner devotee but enjoyed both films.

Objectively, this film equals or surpasses the original. Ridley Scott may have created the vision and tone for the world of Blade Runner, but Denis Villeneuve excels at storytelling and character nuance, so 2049 is a more satisfying film. Gosling and Ford are excellent, but Sylvia Hoeks and Ana de Armas deserve just as much attention for their excellent performances. Hans Zimmer and Benjamin Wallfisch were last-minute additions to the crew, but managed to quickly turn out a memorable score that compares with the original. If you're a fan of though provoking science fiction, this film (like the 1982 original) is for you.
