About this movie

Ribald, tasteless and hilarious ... this classic spoof of the Western genre by director Mel Brooks pokes fun at everyone and everything. A corrupt governor grants a reprieve to an African American convict if the condemned man agrees to serve as sheriff of a small Western town, believing that new sheriff will only live long enough to serve the needs of the governor and his nefarious railroad-baron backer.

In a world where identity politics and politically correctness is killing societies ability to laugh at itself, Blazing Saddles stands alone as the one motion pictures that can release pent up pressure. Funny as all can be, this western parody jabs as all our sensitivities. Often quoted amongst polite company, the humour is off the charts. The main characters, a black sheriff and an alcoholic gunslinger, are tasked to save a racist small western town from greedy railway men protected by paid gunmen. This is a must see. Watch it before it bets banned by the humourless woke culture police.

A masterwork of film parody that took down the whole genre of the Western with humour and insight, leaving it never to recover.
