Der geheimnisvolle Mr. Roarke (Michael Peña) lädt Gäste, die einen Wettbewerb gewonnen haben, auf die tropische Insel Fantasy Island ein, um ihnen dort ihre geheimsten Träume auf magische Weise zu erfüllen. Nicht nur Partys und Südsee-Feeling warten hier auf sie. Sie erhalten die einmalige Möglichkeit, einen einzigen Wunsch wahr werden zu lassen - sei es nun eine Rachefantasie oder die Rückkehr eines verlorenen Menschen. Besucher wie Melanie (Lucy Hale), Randall (Austin Stowell) und Elena (Maggie Q) glauben noch, dass sie wahnsinniges Glück haben, an diesem luxuriösen, abgeschiedenen Ort gelandet zu sein. Doch als die Fantasien sich langsam in Albträume verwandeln, kippt die Stimmung. Die Gäste müssen nun unbedingt das Mysterium der Insel ergründen, um mit ihren Leben davonzukommen. Bewertungen und Rezensionen

Nope. Does. Not. Work. I thought the format may be better as a TV series but it's Fantasy Island is incredibly boring and dumb. The trailer shows all the good parts. Everything else feels like filler. I almost want to spoil the incredibly dumb source of Fantasy Island's mysterious powers but I won't be that far. Wait for it to be free-ish on Amazon Prime or Netflix.

A highly entertaining movie keeping you on the edge of your seat is what sums up the whole story. There is a big twist that everyone can look forward to at the end. The reviews of the movie has polarized to the point where it is either very good or really bad to the majority of people. Regardless of this, I think overall it is still a decent thriller that won't let you down!

I honestly believe they changed the plot - a re-write midway and instead of discarding the serpent level scene they kept it in and tried to force it to work. She wasn't 'faking' her reaction, she was ALONE and it doesn't make sense to later say it was pretending. Also, when in danger, they did not protect themselves from harm as any normal person would do. There are absolutely times of FRUSTRATION when watching this movie, and you will know what I mean when you see it. It could have been better by making what happened on the island, to affect live back home. But no tie-in to reality. Also, in the end, bringing someone back to life means they are made from the black stuff... what's the point?
