L'histoire du passage à l'âge adulte d'Alfred "Boogie" Chin, un phénomène du basket-ball vivant dans le Queens, à New York, qui rêve de jouer un jour dans la NBA. Alors que ses parents font pression sur lui pour qu'il se concentre sur l'obtention d'une bourse d'études dans une université d'élite, Boogie doit trouver un moyen de naviguer entre une nouvelle petite amie, le lycée, les rivaux sur le terrain et le poids des attentes.

While this movie draws comparisons to "Love & Basketball," this movie is vastly different. The movie does a great job with exposing the audience to some Asian culture and also injecting domestic disputes and family pressure on kids. Pop Smoke was pretty good too (Rest In Peace). The director has to be top notch to make this work and he did better than that.

You can tell amateurs directed this. I turned it off a qtr of the way. Im shocked it's not anything that I predicted it to be. It's all over the place and they keep talking Chinese then English. It's like they patched different scenes. Doesn't have any order and the acting is horrible. The roles that they act in is terrible and cheesy.

When I first saw clips from the movie I was highly skeptical and did not think I would be interested in the slightest. I was absolutely blown away by the raw feeling this movie created and how realistic everything about it was. It genuinely felt like I was watching someone's every day life and I think the way it was shot and the dialogue was absolutely perfect. This has definitely become one of my favorite movies and I cant wait to watch it again!
