I think those who are claiming the movie is insulting to women, etc are simply reading too much into this. This was a fun movie about women in that in-between stage of life: not 30-somethings and not Golden Girls. They're still very interested in sex with their husband/partner but struggling to fan the flames of what was once a red-hot love life due to complacency, boredom or just resistance to what they feel they can do at their age. Then along comes Fifty Shades of Gray. Ok, I'll be the first to say that I *hate* that book - I couldn't get more than 5 minutes into reading it without throwing it across the room because of how badly it was written. But what it does for this group of women is nothing short of hilarious! Put all your concerns about how the women are depicted aside and just enjoy the movie for what it is - a fun, playful trip through a brief episode in each of their lives, and the enduring friendship they have together.

I think this was one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. Went to AMC for afternoon matinee and the theater was packed, mostly women, but some spouses that probably were dragged in. I have to see this movie again because there was so much heartly laughter going on in the theater that I missed part of the dialogue. I don't understand the reviews here. It was funny, it was meant to be funny. Nobody was trying to give a lesson or wake up a generation of women to being alive. I kind of feel sorry for those who are so closed minded and puritan, they miss out on a lot of life.

Anyone who has an issue with this movie is a coward about getting older. It was a simple, fun romp with women we've grown up seeing live lives...like the ones soo many of us are usually trying to escape indulging in their work. I really enjoyed this movie for the Saturday afternoon fun it was meantto be. Everything ain't gravitas, people ;-)
