Boy Erased tells the courageous story of Jared Eamons (Lucas Hedges), the son of a Baptist pastor in a small American town, who must overcome the fallout of being outed to his parents (Nicole Kidman and Russell Crowe). His parents struggle with reconciling their love for their son with their beliefs. Fearing a loss of family, friends, and community, Jared is pressured into attending a conversion therapy program. While there, Jared comes into conflict with its leader (Joel Edgerton) and begins his journey to finding his own voice and accepting his true self.

Graderings en resensies

Movie wasn't too bad. The tone is dark throughout...kinda depressing in all honesty but I guess that's what the movie was going for. Acting was pretty decent and the themes are still relevant to this day.

The subtleness in everyone's performance made me forget I was watching a movie. This is how it's done Creatives! Flawless directing, natural performances and a story honoured with integrity. Joel Edgerton; you have my attention. More please.

if Nicole kidman looked her age and without that ridiculous wig, it may be believable but she just doesnt look natural at all. Sorry just has so much facial stuff done she doesnt look like a normal mother.
