Acerca de esta película

Brazilian artist Alê Abreu’s Academy Award-nominated masterpiece is a riotous explosion of music and color that critics proclaim is "one of the most beautiful animated features ever made." (David Noh, Film Journal International) Cuca's cozy rural life is shattered when his father leaves for the city. Determined to reunite his family, Cuca embarks on a journey that unfolds like a tapestry – the film's stunning visuals becoming more complex as his small world expands. The story of a changing world through the eyes of a curious child, Boy & the World depicts a clash between village and city, nature and industry, the rich and the poor – and despite the tumult, the heart and soul of the people beats on as a song… (Original Title - Boy & the World) - 2014 Universal Studios. Narrative animated film with experimental elements. Fun, colorful and heavy. Covers some pretty serious topics. Nothing shocking or obscene but definitely serious stuff. I watched it with my 8 year old son and he sobbed at the end. It doesn't have an "old yeller" moment either. The film just connected with him and moved him. He wept and has talked about the stuff in the film for a few days now with questions about the environment, life and death and jobs being taken over by machines. I say that because it's a great movie if you're looking to introduce your child to films beyond Shrek, whatever. Accessible, well animated and has a point. A fantastic addition to the animated genre.
