Very well acted with superb directing. But, let's be honest. It is about as historically accurate as if Mel Gibson wrote the History himself. Even the dates are off by a few decades. There are so many historical inaccuracies, we might as well call this a parallel universe. The more I look into the real history of William Wallace, the harder I find it to watch the movie. From the sacking of York, to the battle of Sterling Bridge (they didn't even have a bridge in the movie) it's downright painful

Good movie. After digging through some historical books, I find a lot of inaccuracies involved. Kilts didn't get invented for a couple hundred years after these events. Also how did they muck up the Battle of Stirling Bridge, not even featuring a dang bridge. Where Wallace knew they wouldn't be able to cross on horses. Allowing the Scott's to take the advantage. And the French princes he swept off her feet would have been about 12 years old during all these events. So yeah..there is that too.

Epic movie! This is a classic Mel Gibson movie. Emotionally charged. It tells the story of one mans desire to free Scotland from the tyrany of British rule. Story telling at its best. If you enjoy epic feel good movies you'll enjoy Braveheart.
