この映画について

BROOKLYN tells the profoundly moving story of Eilis Lacey (Saoirse Ronan), a young Irish immigrant navigating her way through 1950’s Brooklyn. Lured by the promise of America, Eilis departs Ireland and the comfort of her mother’s home for the shores of New York City. The initial shackles of homesickness quickly diminish as a fresh romance sweeps Eilis into the intoxicating charm of love. But soon, her new vivacity is disrupted by her past, and Eilis must choose between two countries and the lives that exist within.

Sweet ... et les bonbons font du bien avec modération. Pour les couleurs et l'accent 3+. Merci pour les SOUS TITRES FRANCAIS et autres langues qui rendent l'application intéressante et donc bankable, pour les unilingues.

Brooklyn is a period drama of the best kind. It depicts 1950s Ireland and New York in such a pristine light that I couldn't help but think the film romanticizes its setting too much—and yet I willingly suspended my disbelief, for its earnest, elegant storytelling and the precise performances of its cast. It is touching but not overly sentimental. It is alternately funny, romantic and heartbreaking without ever resorting to excessive melodrama. Its peaceful, reserved tone reflects the quiet determination of its characters in the face of massive changes in their circumstances. While we should be careful not to mistake the neat 1950s of this film with the nuanced reality of our historical past, we should also be grateful for films like this, which capture nostalgia the way it should be: bittersweet but inspiring, appreciative of the past yet enlightening for our present lives.
