Frank Bullitt is selected by Chalmers, a politician with ambition, to guard a Mafia informant. Bullitt's friend is shot and the witness is left at death's door by two hit men who seem to know exactly where the the witness was hiding. Bullitt begins a search for both the killer and the leak, but he must keep the witness alive long enough to make sure the killers return. Chalmers has no interest in the injured policeman or the killers, only in the hearings that will catapult him into the public eye and wants to shut down Bullitt's investigation. This was an all around guys flick when it came out. But some of the ladies came to know, and love it as well as time went by. I was shocked when it sold at auction for $3.2M recently. That's just testimony to what this film meant to all of the fans of Steve McQueen, and this car.

Bullitt is beautiful. Shot mainly in San Francisco, it is a thrill of the minute ride that has a sort of clicking tock that keeps you guessing. The car chase is sheer classic, and the movie has a classic shock moment at the end. And then the very ending definitely has wild meaning. Steve Mcqueen is a force to be reckoned with in this. A good, classic, picture.

My husband's favorite movie. So pissed off that I paid not only to purchase this movie but for the HD upgrade and I can't save it to my computer! I freaking own it. Google, you are a goddamned control freak and you have lost my loyalty. I will purchase all my media from Amazon from now on. I hate you.
