この映画について

Walt Disney Animation Studios presents the musical THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG, an animated comedy set in the great city of New Orleans. This is a modern twist on a classic tale featuring a beautiful girl named Tiana (Anika Noni Rose), a frog prince who desperately wants to be human again, and a fateful kiss that leads them both on a hilarious adventure through the mystical bayous of Louisiana. THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG marks the return to hand-drawn animation from the revered team of John Musker and Ron Clements, with music by Oscar®-winning composer Randy Newman.

One of my favorite movies. My favorite disney princess in fact. As someone with a love of cooking, I could relate to Tiana. I love that she proved naysayers wrong, and that she was a hard working, determined, strong, independant woman. Who didn't really need anyone's help, but instead decided she should want human companion ship as well as a bustling career choice and business. Especially for a 19 year old woman, living in the 1920's when majority of people were racist and sexist. The love story between Ray and Evangeline is beautiful in and of itself. I also loved how Tiana first met Naveen, with an eyeroll. Not a typical disney princess, but a strong role model. The animation itself makes me want to go down to Louisana, and see the fireflies buzzing around. Just stunning. The music, I really enjoy, especially Dig a Little Deeper. A wonderful movie for all ages and people alike.

When Disney decided to move exclusively towards computer animated films, I was disappointed. I was greatly excited when they announced that they would briefly return to the traditional animation one last time (though, they later returned once more for the more recent Winnie-the-Pooh film). The film had its fair share of accolades and controversies, but beyond that, I found it to be ultimately disappointing for what it was. Tiana's struggle as both a woman and an African American in a 1920's Louisiana were tame compared to reality for that time. While I didn't want something akin to The Hunchback of Notre Dame, I felt that Disney was walking on eggshells with this one, and ultimately, it lost its potential force for fear of a backlash. Added to that was the soundtrack, which, when the songs were jazz, were good, but when the songs were Randy Newman, they were rambly and annoying. I did enjoy the film, but not as much as I felt I could have, had Disney dared to dream just a little more (as dreamers do).

I'm on a tablet so I'm not gonna go into major details. The movie is sadly the last in Disney's 2D line up... which is a shame. Some things to note, the movie uses voodoo, I personally love it, but I've noticed alot of people get offended really easily. Calm down its a movie. The movies got wonderful catchy songs, memorable characters, and oh THE PRINCE ACTUALLY HAS A PERSONALITY. Also Dr Facilier is one of the best Disney villians since Scar.
